Google Me This: June 10, 2007

Haven't done one of these in awhile, so I'll reflect back on the last month. This covers May 10 through June 10.

Most popular keyword hit: Mexicalifornia

76 hits over the last month. I guess I've hit a bit of a chord with someone. Obviously my harsh stance on illegal immigration is getting across to people. I only hope these people are taking away from it what they should be. That we need to enforce border security FIRST before we start thinking about how to capture and deport the existing lawbreakers already here.

Funniest hit ( at least to me ): "who iguanadons traveled with"

I'm afraid the answer to that burning question will have to remain classified until your species is ready for the truth :)

Collectively, this site has been picking up a huge number of Oblivion related hits for all manner of searches. Between my SI review and the gallery full of screenshots, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. As far as I'm concerned right now Oblivion holds my #1 spot of all time.

Overall the site seems to be doing fairly well. It must have achieved some sort of worthwhile pagerank by now because the spammers have stepped up their attacks. All hail Akismet for stopping them cold.

On another topic all together...the other day I turned on the Sci Fi channel and there was a show called Destination Truth or something like that. Anyway the guy was going to investigate an Iguanadon sighting!!!!!! In New Guinea and I'm thinking "ACK!!!! theres another one on this planet????" Then they mention that local Police forces were hunting it with M16's and I was suddenly glued to the screen, this could get good!!!! They head out to this remote village and start setting up camera's then leave a dead chicken hanging in a tree as bait. Theres a couple little native guys with m16's and I'm really getting excited. Might I see the death of an Iguanadon!!! Might one of those infernal creatures be cut down before the camera? Were these guys Epic heroes of legend or just full of shit?

So they set up night vision cameras and watch the chicken. At about 3 am something shakes the tree next to the chicken. I'm waiting to see what it is when these idiots jump up and run charging towards the chicken with a little heat sensitive hand camera? I'm left going "WTF GUYS??? You couldn't wait another 15 seconds to see what it was?" So they chase it back into the woods and film alot of trees shaking while they shout idiot phrases like "Theres Something huge in the bushes". Now being a long time hunter I've got a fairly good idea of what it takes to shake a tree the way those were and it's not alot I'd be surprised if it was anything more than one of the large pigs they mentioned were common there. Then rather then searching another night they pack up and leave!!!!! in order to quote "have the experts examine what they recorded"

Disgusted I changed the channel and feel horribly disappointed that I didn't get to see the death of an Iguanadon.

Akismet shows 138 catches to date at the bottom of the page here, does that include the four or five times it "caught" me and the number of times it's "caught" you?

Silly pixie. Do you think these puny Earth creatures could fool one of us so easily? My brother in arms could have devoured them whole before either knew what had happened. I'm sure he shook the tree, but our kind does not run. No. He stood his ground as the fools ran right past him after the pig he used as bait!

And Conner, no, that only counts legit hits. If I mark a false positive, that gets taken off the count. So all those times it caught you and me were wiped clean.

Ah, then it is doing fairly well indeed. :)
