Perfect Waste
So I tried to burn another DVD the other day only to be reminded that the damn drive was bad. I don't know if I had even used it much, but it was a Memorex 16X. The bad thing about it is, I knew it was dead because it tried to sacrifice my Oblivion CD to Mehrunes Dagon. I had been running it from a virtual drive the whole time. So when it destroyed a perfectly good blank DVD I shouldn't have been surprised. It's a perfect waste of money though since the drive was out of warranty already. Time sure flies.
I bought a new drive of course. A Pioneer 18x multi-format DVD/RW drive. Serial ATA. One less fat ugly IDE cable to block up air flow with. Actually, it was the only fat ugly IDE cable left. I have yet to give the new unit a try but it should perform admirably. Guess I have no more excuse not to fire up the Ubuntu image and burn a copy now :)

Congratulations on finding perfection. :P
No better time than the present to test the new burner with that Ubuntu image, eh?
