State of the Union 2013

Going to keep this one real short, real sweet. The liar in cheap told an hour's worth of complete whoppers tonight. The whole thing was nothing but one long and ridiculous propaganda laden tirade against the Constitution and everything our Founders stood for.

"Lying Sack of Shit" best describes how I feel about him tonight. I know, big surprise, right?

Pic very much related.

No, definitely not a surprise. Probably not a surprise that I didn't watch it either.. on the other hand, I was amused to see that Bing's Pulse Poll showed a negative response from everyone shortly after the speech had been given, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Males, and Females alike, not uniformly, but solidly across the board... :unclesam: Damn, just went back there to get the link for y'all and now the numbers their graphing are reflecting much more positive reactions. I knew I should've taken a screen shot of it rather than just showing it to my wife and laughing with her over it. :( :headbang:

So. #LAPD. No body in the cabin eh? I bet that's gotta sting

:chuckle: I saw that too. They had a big firefight and let the media start spouting that they had gotten him, even if they were saying no comment to everyone, they weren't telling the media to wait, and then got egg on their faces. Nice, eh?

Yeah, I saw the Bing thing. We were all laughing about how nobody believes this bastard anymore.

Re: LAPD. Apparently there WAS a body in the cabin after all, but it's burned up so badly they need to do forensic testing on it to know who it was.

We hadn't even watched the speech, so we didn't know at the time that it'd been riddled with lies, we were just laughing about the fact that even the Dems appeared to be angry with him finally too.

So, pretty much might as well have been none then? At least until dental records come up with something..

Although, I think its safe enough to assume that it was him (at least in my opinion, a long way away in Australia). The thing is though, how did the fire start?

They lobbed tear gas into the cabin, which is apparently not difficult to light on fire.

It should likewise surprise nobody that I thought it was, for the most part, a pretty decent speech.

I did not see it myself, but i did buy a bottle of Poland Spring :) geeez i was thirsty.

Speaking of being thirsty, poor Marco Rubio. The guy needs to stop and take a swig of water during his response speech and now the liberal media is declaring it the end of his political career.

CNN later said "we were kidding". Yeah, sure you were.

Actually seeing conservatives blasting him for it too. Which, two things:

1. If you use a glass, it looks more professional. Just saying.

2. Seriously, dude needed a drink. BFD.

The guy needs to stop and take a swig of water during his response speech and now the liberal media is declaring it the end of his political career.

I have not read anything like that. But what all this says to me, is that both Obamas speech and the Republican reply were all so Blaa Blaa Blaa that drink of water has become a hot news item.

Personally, i think this will do his career good rather than bad, if voters over there feel the same way about things as we do. Here in Aus, a lot people are done with the stage managed, media scripted and orchestrated politics we currently see and welcome some good old fashioned real human beings talking to us rather than party machine robots.

Well, Dwip, what it tells me is this:

1. Libs have no substantive argument against anything Rubio said.
2. Um... there is no 2. See 1.

Were these actual conservatives who piled on, or just posers on CNN who claim to be?

I never actually got around to watching it. SOTU responses are so uniformly awful I'm not sure I care. So, you know. Kind of what Fury said.

As SOTU responses go, his was among the better. Not like when Bachmann did one and made a total mess of the whole thing.

They said he was literally standing RIGHT under the lights though, so you know, studio lights are pretty hot. Can't blame him for needing a drink.

I'm with Fury on this one, ultimately I think if the media (let alone his adversaries) have nothing to complain about beyond that he had to pause his speech to take a drink of water.. well, that says something in itself.

As for the SOTU, I still haven't had enough interest to actually go watch/listen to it myself, but I caught part of Rush's act yesterday on the radio while driving the hour and a half or so to Dallas and he certainly had plenty to say about it. I think my ears are still aflame... :chuckle:

I'm with Fury on this one,

HA HA HA, one has to wonder, did hell just freeze over. Someone agrees with me, damn, I must not be being controversial enough anymore. .......Fury goes looking for his commie anarchist tin foil hat of controversy to wear........

Wait, so are we all agreeing that "Watergate 2013" (MSNBC called it that, seriously) isn't something to get worked up over? I... uh... wait. That's a sign of the apocalypse, right? Just like the pope resigning? Good God man, Nostradamus was right! :grey:

We need an alien social that looks like a grey. Surely someone must have that :P

Heh, nice. He's on the list now :P

Cute addition: :grey:

Yes, Fury, for a change of pace, we're pretty much all agreeing with you about the water drinking incident... No, Samson, I don't think it's a sign of the apocalypse, I think it's a sign that the media chose something utterly ridiculous to try to make a story out of this time. Something which seems to be happening with far more frequency than it ever used to. :headbang:

As for real news, did anyone see anything about the meteor shower in Russia, the shock waves blew out windows. I will find a link to the you tubes. I tell you what, i would need fresh undies if I was there. I sounded like bombs going off and looked much line incoming missiles. :grey:

Yeah, was just watching that and the asteroid fly-by. I saw the initial reports of the meteor last night and didn't think much of it but apparently it was a bigger event than they thought.

I saw that one on the news myself, so much for it all being just a near miss light show, eh? I'm VERY glad that I wasn't anywhere within thousands of miles of the impact site, but it was definitely the best light show going that entire day. Maybe the :grey: :alien: are attacking us by throwing rocks. ;)
