Faggots in Rehab

"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot'" -- Ann Coulter

So. Ann was giving a speech yesterday at CPAC - Conservative Political Action Conference - and of the clips I've seen and read so far the whole thing was rather humorous. Assuming you have half a brain anyway. But obviously the liberal press didn't think it was the least bit funny and so they took the above quote totally out of context and attacked he with it. Mercilessly. The New York Times hounded her for a response to comments that it was sick, offensive, and anti-gay. "C'mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean." was her response.

To this I say kudos. Ann has never backed away from her opinions. Never apologizes for what she has to say. If people don't like it, she's not afraid to tell them to stuff it. I like seeing that. If more people would just stick by what they said, and not cower before the liberal loonies in charge of the media, then the Republican party would be far better off and probably still in power today. But I digress.

What Ann said was a joke. But what liberal media figures say all the time about the president is just plain vicious. Bill Maher for instance. "I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.", hinting at the war in Iraq. Or then you have Rosie O'Donnel on The View not long ago calling the Bush administration a gang of liars and murderers. Or when people like Howard Dean call republicans evil and say they hate everything we stand for. And it's OK for Hilary Clinton to make fun of southerners with a fake drawl. But none of that matters because now they can brand Ann a "homophobe" and be done with it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go sign up for rehab for the title of this post.
"It is pointless to resist, my son." -- Darth Vader
"Resistance is futile." -- The Borg
"Mother's coming for me in the dragon ships. I don't like these itchy clothes, but I have to wear them or it frightens the fish." -- Thurindil

Well. I guess that's that then.
